Taking photos was a necessary evil when it came to making art. I needed images to paint and sculpt from. Having a model sit for a long period or magically appear when you feel like painting is impractical.
I never considered myself a photographer but more of that of a pack rat of documentation, some mundane and others very rich

The best description of my photographic work would be "opportunistic," as many times I am taken to photograph when most people can only gawk at the scene.
Included are some of my 4401 Series which are taken in the location surrounding my studio which I have been compelled to document becasue of all the activity and sometimes carnage that tends to occur in this area of Oakland.
